Meeting of the Commission for the Study of National Issues

  • January 22, 2022

The meeting of the Commission for the study of national issues was held at the Academy of Sciences, at which PhD Teimuraz Pachulia presented a report entitled “The Paradigms of the Georgian Geopolitical School”. The meeting was opened by Academician Elizbar Javelidze who emphasised the topicality of the issue that concerns any nation. Georgia is involuntarily involved in geopolitics. It is the pursuit of the interests of a certain nation in a particular region. Many people think that there is no Georgian geopolitical school, but in fact it exists. It is more indigenous than American, British, etc. This is the school of the greatest traditions beginning from King Parnavaz and David Agmashenebeli. Georgian science and culture have always developed in this direction. Georgia is at a geopolitical crossroads. “National independence is the highest value that the Georgian nation served and that Georgian geopolitics ultimately serves.” At the end of the report, a discussion took place, in which members of the Academy took part.
