Meeting of the Commission for Studying of National Issues

On 12 February 2020, the Commission for Studying of National Issues at the Presidium of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences held a regular meeting. PhD, linguist, Professor Nana Shengelia and member of European Society of Linguistics, mathematician Gia Kvashilava presented the latest studies that deal with Proto-Kartvelian period, pictographic script of the Minoan era, the system of Phaistos Disc Proto-Kartvelian inscriptions and linear A inscriptions. Based on the work of many famous scholars, it has been suggested that the Kartvelian civilization was hegemon in the Mediterranean and that our ancestors made a considerable contribution to the creation of European civilization. The history of statehood in our territory begins much earlier than in modern history textbooks.
