In spite of low level of concentration of these medicines in water they influence the health of animals and people(endocrine, hormonal, genetic irregularities etc.). This caused anxiety of international community. The speaker said that the goal of research is to study the cheap, accessible absorbents and finding the economical and effective ways of purification of water from the pharmaceutical wastes. During the last time period institute’s R. Dogonadze laboratory of the theoretical studies in its research activity most of all deals with the following topics: these are studying by means of original technology worked out in the institute (patent P 2021 7309 B) of the physical and chemical traits of carbon materials produced from secondary raw matters. Scientists also work on the clarification of their selectivity for cleansing environmental objects from various pollutants.

On 26th of July 2024 the cession of the Centre for Innovations and High Technologies was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia.
