Important Novelty: Georgian-German Cooperation in Physiology and Medicine
Prof. Dr. Tengiz Gloveli is at the head of a joint German-Georgian project funded by the Ministry of Education and Science of Germany which is aimed at close cooperation of the German and Georgian specialists in improvement of presurgical diagnosis of epilepsy and introduction of new, invasive method of treatment in Georgia. Within the frames of the project last year (24-28 October) at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia was held an international conference, which hosted 25 leading scientists and clinicians of Europe and Georgia.
Currently preparations are under way for conduction of the first neurosurgical operations on September 16-18 of this year. These operations will be carried out by the German surgeons in Tbilisi together with Georgian doctors who participate in the project consortium.
