Presidential Elections at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences
On June 5, 2018, the elections of the president of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences took place at the General Assembly which was attended by 79 members of the Academy. Only one candidate was nominated for the position of the President and it was the incumbent president of the Academy, academician Giorgi Kvesitadze. In his speech he spoke about the achievements of the Academy and outlined his vision of the priority measures for the further development of science in Georgia. By a majority of votes academician Giorgi Kvesitadze was re-elected for a second term.
