The National Academy of Sciences of Georgia is a successor of the ancient Georgian academies of Gelati and Iqalto, an institution of high level intellectual development of the state, a scientific advisor to Georgia’s government and an Association of distinguished scholars.



Establishers
The National Academy of Sciences of Georgia is a successor to the Ikalto and Gelati academies in its content and function. The direct predecessors of the Academy who paved the way for its establishment were first of all the Tbilisi State University


80th anniversary
