A seminar was held on issues of transition to circular economy

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture Solomon Pavliashvili attended the seminar “Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Requirements”. The seminar was held within the framework of the “Governance Reform Fund (GRF)” project of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). In particular, by organizing the sub-project “Supporting Georgia’s Government to Strengthen Governance and Policy in the Process of Transitioning to a Circular Economy”. The participants of the seminar discussed the following issues: identifying appropriate ESG risks, supporting ESG performance through governance systems, facilitating financing with consistent and reliable reporting on ESG issues; learning about ESG facts, recognized ESG investment strategies, EU sustainable financing framework, environmental and social performance standards of financial institutions, requirements of financial institutions in the field of environmental expertise and monitoring.
