National Prize Laureates

Based on the decision of the Georgian National Prize Commission, on January 29, 2026, the Georgian National Prize was awarded to the President of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Academician Roin Metreveli, together with the group: Lela Mikiashvili, Vakhtang Guruli, Aleksandre Daushvili, Joni Kvitsiani, Valeri Vashakidze, Otar Janelidze for the two-volume work “History of the Caucasus”. The national award was also awarded to Academician Levan Japaridze and Corresponding Member Teimuraz Macharashvili.
