The National Academy of Sciences of Georgia got acquainted with the results of assessment of circularity level of Georgia’s economy

Academician of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, Deputy Minister of Environment Protection and Agriculture, Solomon Pavliashvili familiarized the members of the Academy with the the document “Assesment of circularity level of Georgia’s economy”. The document has been developed with the support of the Swedish Government, outlining the target indicators recommended for the national policy for the circular economy and goals of circularity, sectoral opportunities, sectoral policy options and recommendations. It defines the key stages of assessing circularity level of Georgia’s economy, the possibilities of the circular economy for each target sector, the main findings and recommendations of the sectorial analysis. It is important to note that the development of the circular economy is beneficial in both economic, social and environmental directions and is related to the goals of sustainable development and the green economy”, said Solomon Pavliashvili.
