The 100th Anniversary of Zurab Anchabadze

An event in honor of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Professor Zurab Anchabadze, Corresponding Member of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of History was held at the presidium of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. Georgian and Abkhazian historian Zurab Anchabadze was an honored worker of science of Abkhazia, as well as a deputy of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR of the IX convocation, the first rector of the Abkhazian University. He founded the departments of the history of Georgia and Abkhazia and headed them. Under his leadership, 20 candidate and 6 doctoral dissertations were defended. At the meeting, it was decided to establish the Zurab Anchabadze Prize.
