A great writer seen through the eyes of an artist – Konstantine
On May 17, 2022, the presentation of the book “Konstantine” by writer and artist Rezo Adamia was held at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. The book is edited by Academician Roin Metreveli. The event was organized by the Commission for Study of National Issues at the Academy Presidium. Among the speakers were: Academician Roin Metreveli, Professors: Levan Gvinjilia, Gogi Gogolashvili and Temur Nadareishvili, the chairman of the Georgian Writers Union Makvala Gonashvili, the chairman of the Artists’ Union Guram Tsertsvadze, poets: Mimoza Tsanava and Erekle Sagliani, Temur Shashiashvili, the author of the book Rezo Adamia and mother Mariam Mukhraneli-Bagrationi.
Writing an essay about the great writer of the last century – Konstantine Gamsakhurdia – is not an easy task. “Meetings with a Great Writer” (Thoughts and Feelings) is the title of Mr. Rezo’s new book. The book clearly shows Rezo Adamia’s deep knowledge of Konstantin Gamsakhurdia’s creativity. It should be noted that the work includes ten portraits of Konstantine Gamsakhurdia by Rezo Adamia. For the creation of this book, the author was awarded the Giorgi Leonidze Prize.
