Meeting of the Commission for Complex Study of Highland Issues

On June 6, 2022, the Presidium of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia hosted a meeting of the Commission for Complex Study of the Highland issues, at which a member of the Commission, PhD in economics, Affiliate professor of the New Higher Education Institute Nodar Grdzelishvili presented a report. The topic of the report was – “Main trends in the transformation of the Georgian economy.” The speaker thoroughly discussed the contradictory processes of the Georgian economy from the 90s to the present day by compiling summary data. He analyzed these processes and identified the factors hindering the development of the national economy. In this regard, the focus was primarily on the need for state regulation of the spheres of economy. Particular attention was paid to the importance of education and science for the successful management of the country’s economy.
