Memorandum of Cooperation with the National Statistics Office of Georgia

A Memorandum of cooperation was signed between the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia and the National Statistics Office of Georgia. The bilateral document was signed by the executive director of Sakstat, Gogita Todradze, and the president of the National Academy of Sciences, Giorgi Kvesitadze.

The memorandum signed for a period of three years will facilitate the production and exchange of high-quality and objective statistical information between the parties. The event was opened by the President of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia Giorgi Kvesitadze. Rector of the Technical University of Georgia David Gurgenidze, academicians of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia Lado Papava, Kartlos Kachiashvili and Professor of Tbilisi State University Temur Beridze took part in the discussion. As the executive director of the National Statistical Service Gogita Todradze noted, “In the course of cooperation, Geostat, in accordance with the law, within the framework of the statistical work program, will provide the Academy with the statistical information necessary to fulfill its goals and objectives and provide it with statistical products in the field of its interests” . On the other hand, the Academy ensures the participation of the Geostat employees in the implementation of research projects, supports the main direction of activity and organization of workshops. To plan future relationships and exchange ideas, the Academy and Geostat periodically hold joint events.
