Scientific session of historians

On November 11, 2022, a joint scientific session of the National Committee of Historians of Georgia and the Ekvtime Takaishvili Historical Society was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia.
The chairman of the session, Doctor of Historical Sciences Otar Zhordania, informed those present about the publication of the journal “The Issues of History”. He informed the public that a scientific direction had been created, which would specifically study the questions of the history and culture of Abkhazia and the Tskhinvali region. The first result of work in this direction is the report of the doctor of historical sciences Ketevan Pavliashvili on the topic: “Church processes in Abkhazia in 1994-2022”, presented at the session. The speaker presented the complex church processes taking place in modern Abkhazia. Based on scientific analysis, the preparatory directions for the ongoing ecclesiastical crisis in Abkhazia, its causes and acute and complex stages of development were considered.
