Annual report of the Main Scientific Editorial Board of the Georgian Encyclopedia

On December 15, 2022, the meeting of the Presidium was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia. The annual report on the activities of the main scientific editorial board of the Georgian Encyclopedia named after Irakli Abashidze was presented by the editor-in-chief, Dr. Zurab Abashidze. In his speech, he emphasised the role of the encyclopedia in the cultural and public life of the country, the stages of its development. As Mr. Zurab noted, the 5th volume of Encyclopedia “Sakartvelo” is currently being intensively worked on, which will be ready for printing and publication in the first quarter of the following year. It should be noted that the mentioned volume will include about 3000 encyclopedic articles on the letters of the Georgian alphabet: “kani”, “lassi” and “mani”. A new version of the website which includes the richest information about the Georgian Encyclopedia has been prepared. In conclusion, Zurab Abashidze noted that the future plans of the Georgian Encyclopedia include close cooperation with encyclopedias of foreign countries, higher educational institutions of Georgia, Kutaisi Technological University, etc.
