New Edition of the Academy of Sciences

In June 2022, a virtual conference entitled “Anthropology, AI and the Future of Human Society” was held under the auspices of the Royal of Anthropological Institute of Great Britain and Ireland. Based on this conference, a recently published book is a collection of reports delivered by scientists from different countries during a panel discussion on the topic “The Concept of Tradition: Its Survival, Transformation and Renewal of the Virtual World.” The National Academy of Sciences of Georgia was a co-participant in this panel discussion. In the collection, the authors try to show how the construction of postmodern society is changing against the backdrop of increasing technological progress and civilizational changes, how horizontal connections are expanding through social networks, and what is the perspective of anthropology. The book features “cyberethnography” as a modern method of scientific research.
