Presentation of the two-volume edition of the History of the Caucasus

The presentation of the two-volume edition “History of the Caucasus” took place at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia. The “History of the Caucasus” prepared under the auspices of the Academy of Sciences and published by the publishing house “Artanuji” consists of two volumes. Such a complete edition has been published for the first time. The team of authors includes academician Roin Metreveli, professors: Valeri Vashakidze, Giorgi Cheishvili, Joni Kvitsiani, Lela Mikiashvili, Vakhtang Guruli, Otar Janelidze and Aleksandre Daushvili. The book shows the role and place of the Caucasus in world civilizations from ancient times to the present day; its significance in civilization processes, the possibility of achieving the main goal – a peaceful Caucasus, etc. are analyzed. It can be safely said that for the first time in Georgian historiography a fundamental scholarly work has been created, where the history of the peoples of the Caucasus is fully presented.
