Professor Estate Khmaladze’s public report

A public report by the foreign member of the Academy, Professor at the University of Wellington (New Zealand) Estate Khmaladze on the theme “What probability theory and mathematical statistics do” was held at the meeting hall of the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia.  Estate Khmaladze is a world-renowned specialist in the field of probability theory and mathematical statistics. In his report, he spoke about both fundamental and applied aspects of this direction of mathematics. The report contained many specific examples from various fields of science where the use of sophisticated mathematical methods provides opportunities for establishing new and interesting regularities. The seminar was organized by the Department of Mathematics and Physics the Academy.
