Presidium Meeting

On October 25, 2023, a regular meeting of the Presidium was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, at which Doctor of Philosophy Irakli Brachuli presented a report – “Antimos Iverieli – paradigms of the early modernity and dialectics of the Enlightenment.” The speaker emphasized that the multifaceted legacy of Antimoz Iverieli, one of the ktitors of the early modern European paradigm in the Balkans and Georgia, requires comprehensive and in-depth study. St. Anthimos’ own name “IVERIANUL” encodes the idea of outposts of Christendom in the Balkans and Caucasian Iberia, which in turn, is based on the concept of “prestige of the beginnings”. An important interpretative perspective is contained in the “Monastery Typikon” Antimoz Iverieli and the main orientations of his homilies – “The Enlightenment and Freedom”.
