Mathematical Methods in Neuroscience

Mini interdisciplinary conference at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia organized jointly by the Divisions of mathematic, physics, physiology and medicine. The topic of the conference was: “Mathematical Methods in Neuroscience.” The main topic considered at the conference was the issue of perspectives of using the algorithm patented in the USA by Janashia and Lagvilava for treatment of epilepsy. The mathematical part of the conference consisted of description of method of Janashia-Lagvilava matrix’s spectral factorization and the story of its making. At the conference Georgian doctors spoke about epilepsy treatment by means of surgery and mentioned, insofar is important to process properly the presurgical records of electric encephalograms in order to clarify accurately the starting location of epileptic lose of consciousness.
