The Session of the Committee on Studying the Scientific Problems of Natural Catastrophes

On 24th of July, 2024 in the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia the Session of the Committee on studying of the scientific problems of natural catastrophes was held. The floor was given to the Professors of Geo-Engineering Department at Olshtin(Poland) Varmia-Mazur University Joana Pavlovich and Aldona Skotnicka-Shepshak.
Professor Pavlovich delivered presentation on prognosis of deformation of historical-cultural and outdated buildings, and on low pressure dams as well. This prognosis is carried out by means of modern 3-D laser scanner and drone photographing. The speaker noticed that through the given innovative methods and methodologies it is possible to fix in the three sizes space any type of damage, deformation and the cracks inclusive in the buildings and any type of construction.
