The Scientific Conference Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of 1924 Uprising

On the10th   of September, 2024 the scientific conference was held, organized by the Committee of History, Archaeology and Ethnology of the   National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, dedicated to 1924 Uprising.  In the delivered presentations such issues were stressed as the attitude of the Georgian government in emigration towards the uprising and its contribution to  the preparation and the implementation of the rebellion; the publications of the emigrants’ press and evaluation given in their newspapers; the concrete dramatic episodes of the repressions of the Soviets in the hub of the uprising – Kakheti;  inception and development of uprising in Abkhazia. The concrete results of the repressions were analysed by the example of one ordinary family – the Turkestanishvilis. Once again was stated opinion about provoking of the rebellion. The new archive data were presented.
