The Bashplem Lake Discovery

On 29th of April, 2025, the Session of the National Committee of the Historians and the Ekvtime Takaishvili Historical Society was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia . The session considered the following topic: “ The Discovery in Georgia of the Bashplemi Lake Tablet with hitherto Unknown Writing.” The presenter was Academician Ramaz Shengelia. As he noted in 2021, in the southern part of the village Dmanisi, at the Bazaleti lake the basalt tablet with an inscription hitherto unknown was found. There are 60 signs in 7 rows on this tablet. The study of this issue is still underway.
