Presentation of the Book – “Laz Ethnological Dictionary”

On October 16, 2025, the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia and Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University co-hosted the presentation of the book “Laz Ethnological Dictionary”.

The “Laz Ethnological Dictionary” is the first attempt to generalize the historically formed traditional cultural values created and preserved by the Laz people — direct descendants of the Colchians — over centuries in areas such as social relations, household practices, and material and spiritual culture. The dictionary is based on specific field-ethnographic and literary sources, providing definitions of subject terms and rich visual materials, including photographs.
