Meeting of the Ecological Safety Commission

On November 25, a session of the Ecological Safety Commission was held at the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, at which the report “Prevention of Plastics in Contact with Food and Its Impact on Human Health and Ecological Safety” was presented by Lasha Inauri, Head of the Waste and Chemicals Management Policy Department of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture.
As the speaker noted, at the initiative of the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Agriculture, the use of certain plastic items intended for contact with food will be prohibited from January 1, 2026.
