International Day of Women and Girls in Science

February 11 was declared the International Day of Women and Girls in Science by the European Union on December 22, 2015. The purpose of this day is to promote women interested in science and support their growing role in the system of science, innovation and technology.
On February 11, 2026, on the occasion of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science established by the United Nations, 13 successful female scientists in various fields of science were awarded honorary certificates of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
