On October 30, 2019, a meeting of the Commission for Ecological Security was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia. The meeting was chaired by Academician Tengiz Urushadze. Jimsher Kerkadze, Associate Professor of the Department of Environmental Engineering and Ecology at Technical University of Georgia delivered a report entitled “Environmental Engineering Research of Industrial Enterprises”. Special attention in this report was paid to the pilot project implemented by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) in Georgia for 2014-18. A profile of the activities of three chemical and food industries located in different cities of Georgia (Tbilisi, Rustavi and Gori) in accordance with methodological approaches to resource saving and clean production was presented.
