Session of the Special Scientific-Practical Commission

As is known, on June 3 of the current year, the Georgian National Academy of Sciences organized a meeting with the Director of the National Center for Disease Control and Public Health, Dr. Amiran Gamkrelidze and Deputy Director of the NCDS, Professor Paata Imnadze, which was devoted to the issues of coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. It was decided to set up a special scientific-practical commission, which would work and make a significant contribution to the study and fight against the coronavirus. The first meeting of this commission was held at the Academy on June 26, at which three reports were heard: “The Ways of the novel coronavirus Covid-19 transmission into the body through the eyes and its prevention” (delivered by TSMU Professor, Laureate of the State Prize Merab Dvali); “Herbal and Mineral Nets (Biologically Active Additives) as an Antiviral Prophylaxis” (delivered by Professor of the Technical University, Doctor of Biological Sciences Edisher Kvesitadze) and “The First Georgian chemotherapeutic drug Amphetamine in the treatment of coronavirus Covid-19 ”(delivered by Irakli Nadiradze, chief oncologist, Doctor of Medicine, Professor, Laureate of the State Prize of the Georgian-Israeli Joint Clinic).
