Georgian science has suffered an irreparable loss, – Otar Japaridze a prominent scholar and public figure, academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, professor at the Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University passed away. His research area was Georgian and Caucasian culture of the Bronze Age. Otar Japaridze is widely recognized as one of the most authoritative scholars of Caucasian Bronze Age culture not only in Georgia but also abroad. He is the author of numerous books, monographs and papers. He was awarded the Ivane Javakhishvili Prize. Otar Japaridze’s rich scientific heritage has occupied an honorable place in the treasuries of Georgian science The memory of the outstanding scientist, teacher and public figure is unforgettable in the lives of his colleagues, numerous students and Georgian society.
