Meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio in Georgia

On 24 September 2020, the Apostolic Nuncio to Georgia Msgr. Jose Avelino Bettencourt visited the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. The centuries-old historical relations between Georgia and Italy were discussed at the meeting. The leadership of the Academy informed the Apostolic Nuncio about the activities of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, current scientific work in the research institutions.
The Apostolic Nuncio, Msgr. Bettencourt spoke about the necessity of cooperation between the Georgian National Academy of Sciences and the Pontifical Academy of Social Sciences in the Vatican, founded in 1603 which includes numerous Nobel Prize winners from around the world. Such collaboration would be beneficial for both parties.
