Biography

Linguist, author of more than 200 scholarly publications, including 18 monographs and over 20 textbooks.

Major research interests: Kartvelian Languages, history and structure of Georgian Language, Lexicology, Etymology; stylistics and speech culture.

Editor-in-chief of the “Explanatory Dictionary of the Georgian Language”. Author of training programs for different levels and textbooks.

Chairman of the Commission for Complex Studying of Georgia’s Mountainous Regions at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia.
