Biography
Prof. Tinatin Sadunishvili graduated from Tbilisi State University in 1975 with a Diploma in Biology/Biochemistry. At the Institute of Plant Biochemistry, Georgian Academy of Sciences. she obtained degree of Candidate of Science (1980) and Doctor of Science (1995) in Biology on studies on structure, kinetics and regulation of nitrogen metabolism enzymes; ammonia assmimilation pathways in plants. Since that, working as Head of Laboratory at Durmishidze Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, her research topics were expanded by studying structure-function changes in plant cells under contamination stress. She was involved in realization of International projects as Principal investigator in the field of microbial diversity, development of bio and phytoremediation technologies based on selected plants and microbial consortia; phytopathogenic bacteria and their specific bacteriophages; From 2013 she was appointed as full professor and Head of Department of Plant Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Durmishidze Institute of Biochemistry and Biotechnology, Agricultural University of Georgia. In 2009 Tinatin Sadunishvili was selected as Corresponding Member, and in 2015 Full Member Georgian National Academy of Sciences.
During her professional career Dr. Sadunishvili worked as invited Professor at the Etvos Lorand University, Budapest; Institute of Enzymology, Szegedi Biological Center, Hungary; Post-Doctoral study and research at University of Murcia, Spain, Lawrence Berkeley National laboratory, CA, Meisei University, Japan, etc.
She is an author of a monograph, and about 100 scientific publications including reviews and book chapters.
