On January 12, 2022, a meeting of the Presidium of the Academy was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, which was opened by the President of the Academy, Giorgi Kvesitadze. The meeting was attended by academicians and members of the Presidium. The editor-in-chief of the Encyclopaedia, doctor of political sciences Zurab Abashidze presented a report on the activities of the the Chief Scientific Editorial Board of the Georgian Encyclopaedia. He noted that the main activity of the Encyclopaedia is the publication of a universal, multi-volume “Sakartvelo”. Four volumes have already been published; work is underway on V volume and in parallel on the electronic version of the first volume. The first volume, published in 1997, was significantly updated and published on the encyclopedia’s website – georgianencyclopedia.ge. It should be noted that the Georgian encyclopaedia has links with foreign encyclopaedias such as the British and the Norwegian encyclopaedias. It is also planned to update the website and popularise it, which will increase the number of its views.
