This visit was of acquaintance nature. In his speech, the Vice President Roin Metreveli noted that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the founding of the Czech Academy of Sciences. The close relations with the Czechs started a long time ago, as far back as the 19th century a small group of Czech people settled in Georgia, some of whom were very prominent figures who made important contributions to Georgian culture. The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere and after exchanging the views the prospects for future cooperation have been discussed. As Prof. Eva Zažímalová puts it,”this visit is of informative character, but in the future, cooperation in the fields of exact sciences, ecology, biotechnology, artificial intelligence is intended and it is also possible to sign a bilateral agreement”.
