Academician Zaza Aleksidze is awarded the Gold Medal of the “French Renaissance”

Zaza Aleksidze, Academician of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, Head of the Department of Oriental and Armenian Manuscripts at the Korneli Kekelidze Georgian National Center of Manuscripts, has been awarded the Gold Medal of the International Association “French Renaissance” for his outstanding contribution to the development of culture. This award is a confirmation of the international recognition of Aleksidze’s long-term and fruitful scientific work. Acad. Aleksidze’s fundamental works, which are dedicated to the study of medieval Georgian-Armenian politics and cultural relations, the study of Georgian manuscript heritage are well known. His name is associated with the creation of a completely new stage in the study of Albanology – the Albanian language, history and culture of the Caucasus. The diversity of scientific interests, the visible results of interdisciplinary research have paved the way for the international scientific arena. The Georgian National Academy of Sciences cordially congratulates Zaza Aleksidze on the highly important international award and wishes him further success.
