Energy Forum

On March 15, 2023, an energy forum was held at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia, which was organized by the “Commission for the complex study of Georgia’s mountain regions” and the Georgian National Energy and Water Supply Regulatory Commission. This important forum was opened by the chairman of the Commission, academician Avtandil Arabuli. The scientific secretary of the “Mountain Commission” Miron Fortskhelani read the report on current issues in energy. The session focused on such important issues as: the topic of bitcoins, the construction of small and medium-sized hydroelectric power stations in the Enguri valley, the utilization of wind and solar energy to generate electricity, one of the main sources of electricity – thermal energy, the construction of large reservoir hydroelectric plants, the current situation at high-dam stations (Enguri, Ladzhanuri, Zhinvali, etc.).
