Awarding of Women Scientists

On March 28, 2023, in connection with the International Day, the Georgian Women’s Council organized a meeting with women academicians at the National Academy of Sciences of Georgia. The session was opened with an introductory speech by the President of the Academy, Academician Giorgi Kvesitadze, who congratulated women academicians on the International Day of Scientists. He spoke about the great achievements and contribution of women scientists to the development of world science. The Chairperson of the Executive Board of the Women’s Council, Ms. Ketevan Gabruashvili, briefly reviewed the history of the Council. She awarded honorary certificates and medals and gave commemorative gifts to female members of the Academy: Tinatin Sadunishvili, Innes Merabishvili, Liana Melikishvili and Ketevan
Nemsadze. The participants of the meeting congratulated academician Ether Kemertelidze, a remarkable representative of the Georgian School of Pharmacochemistry, on her 97th birthday. The chairman of the Culture Foundation, academician Tamaz Shilakadze presented Mrs. Ether with the medal “for special contribution to science”.
