Georgian-Azerbaijan Conference

On March 17, 2021, the Georgian National Academy of Sciences hosted a scientific-practical conference entitled “Georgian-Azerbaijan Strategic Partnership as a Factor for Peace and Development in the South Caucasus.” The conference was held with the participation of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Georgia, Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University and the Georgian Technical University. The topical issues of Georgian-Azerbaijani relations, security and peace, scientific, cultural and economic relations of the Caucasus were discussed at the conference. The conference was opened by the vice-president of the Academy, Academician Roin Metreveli, who noted that the meeting was dedicated to the strategic relations between the two countries. Then the floor was given to the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Azerbaijan to Georgia Faig Guliyev, who emphasised that this meeting will greatly contribute to joint cooperation. At the end of the meeting, Academician Roin Metreveli presented the Ambassador of Azerbaijan with “Kartlis Tskhovreba” in Russian and the edition of the Georgian encyclopedia – “100 Memorable Names”.
