Meeting of the Coordination and Methodological Council of Biomedical Sciences

On 12 October, 2021, the first session of the newly established Coordination and Methodological Council of Medical and Biological Sciences was held at the Academy of Sciences, chaired by Academician Ramaz Khetsuriani and co-chairs, Academicians Zurab Kevanishvili and David Mikeladze (Academic Secretary). The meeting of the Board was attended by members of the Academy and well-known representatives of the medical field.

The meeting was devoted to “the current demographic situation and topical issues of reproduction in Georgia.” Five reports were presented: “The current demographic situation in Georgia” (Speaker Anzor Totadze, demographer); “Reproductology in Georgia” (Speaker PhD in Medicine Archil Khomasuridze); “In-Vitro Fertilization in Georgia” (Speaker PhD in Medicine Natalia Khonelidze); “Male Factor in Infertility and Reproductive Losses” (Speaker: Doctor of Medicine Temur Gagnidze); “Reproductive Assistance Technologies – News and Perspectives” (Speaker Ketevan Osidze, obstetrician-gynecologist).

At the end of the meeting, a discussion was held.
