Meeting of the Center for Innovation and High Technology

On 29 March 2021, the 69th extraordinary session of the Center for Innovation and High Technologies was held at the Presidium of the Georgian National Academy of Sciences. The session was dedicated to the discussion of the draft concept of the master plan for the city of Mtskheta. The Chairman of the Akolis Association Akaki Zerekidze, head of the spatial planning group, Professor Vladimer Vardosanidze and art expert Kristine Darchia presented to the audience the outcomes of their efforts of Mtskheta master plan. The meeting was attended by members of the Commission, representatives of the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure, leading researchers in the field and experts.

It was noted that Akoli association is the winner of bidding conducted by the Municipal Development Fund of Georgia for the development of Mtskheta master plan and is now in the second stage of the project. The Association takes into consideration historical, archaeological, cultural and religious significance of Mtskheta as the ancient capital of Georgia, its place in the system of world cultural heritage and creates all conditions for the preservation of its unique historical and cultural heritage. The complexity of the project envisages the involvement of experts from various institutions. The materials of the meeting were sent to the Ministry of Regional Development and Infrastructure.
